It's a Continued Honor to Serve as Your Brookhaven Town Republican Party Chairman • 15 Years and Counting

My Friends,

It was 15 years ago today, in a crowded hall at the Centereach Fire Department, I had the privilege and honor on being elected the Chairman of our great Brookhaven Town Republican Committee.

From day one, it has been a thrill to greet each day knowing that I am working with the best team, and the very best team of committee members anyone could ask for.

On that first day, when we in the minority on the Town Board and County Legislature, the odds of our party succeeding were daunting. But while many were ready to write off the Brookhaven Town Republican Party, the men and women of this committee were more than ready to meet those challenges.

Through teamwork and dedication, the accomplishments we have achieved have far exceeded anyone's imagination. Where we once held only two seats on the town board, we now have a strong Supervisor who is joined by a super-majority of town council members. Every town-wide elected official in Brookhaven is in office thanks to our party efforts.

In Washington, D.C. we have Congressman Lee Zeldin, who is now setting his sights higher to bring our Long Island middle class values to Albany as our next Governor.

We have faced off directly with the best the Democrat party has to offer, and even in Blue Wave years, the Brookhaven GOP has still defeated the Democrats at the ballot box.

Just this past year, Brookhaven Republicans delivered a historic victory by electing Dominic Thorne to the Suffolk County Legislature. In doing this, Brookhaven GOP captured the Seventh Legislative District for the first time since 1972, defeating the sitting Democrat Presiding Officer.

In 2021, the Brookhaven GOP elected the first Republican District Attorney in 20 years. We elected our hometown candidate, Ray Tierney of Holtsville, with a plurality of more than 15,000 votes!

Even in 2020, when disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo weaponized COVID for the purposes of suppressing the Republican vote, the Brookhaven GOP delivered a plurality of more than 9,000 votes to unseat a Senate Democrat and elect Alexis Weik. We also delivered at the ballot box to keep two open GOP seats by electing NY Senators Anthony Palumbo and Mario MatTera.

We’ve been blessed to see enormous changes and growth for our party over these past 15 years, and we enjoy the fruits of these successes thanks to you - the men and women of our committee.

For me, the committee members representing Brookhaven are the “First Among Equals.”

While this year will bring its own sets of challenges, I know that the strength, hard work and dedication of our committee is up to the task.

As Gen. James Mattis said, “There is no God-given right to victory on the battlefield. You win that through the skill and the devotion, the valor and the ferocity of your troops.”

The Brookhaven Committee Member is the definition of skill, devotion, valor and ferocity. And that is why you - the Members and Elected Officials of the Brookhaven Town Republican Committee - serve as the new standard organizational political parties seek to emulate.

Thank you for your continued support as Chairman. As someone who grew up in this committee, it's a job I look forward to doing every day because of the people like you who make this party great.

I would be remiss if I did not thank my family for their support these past 15 years. And, of course, our Leadership Team here in the Brookhaven GOP for all their trust and support of my tenure.

Ever grateful,
—Jesse Garcia,
Committee Member ED 193
